The EFCL Needs Your Help:

Your stories, photos and opinions are needed so that we can better advocate on behalf of your neighbourhood. We need:

Your experience with problem properties: Have you or other residents in your neighbourhood had experience with ‘problem properties’ – houses and businesses that are unsightly, unsafe, or attract crime and other forms of disorder?  A couple of league civics directors, with the support of a small group of residents and EFCL staff, are preparing a submission for Council and they need input from neighbours of problem properties.  Please see the attached “Request for Problem Property Stories” and respond by February 28, 2016. Please pass along this request to others who may have stories to share.

hotos of Garage Suites and Roof Top Patios:  Please take photos of garage suites and of housing with roof top patios, and forward them to The EFCL Planning and Development Committee is preparing for a review of Garage Suite design options and regulations. The Committee is also working on privacy regulations and screening for roof top patios and balconies. Photos would greatly help us visualize the concerns and positive options. Along with your photos please provide your comments about what you like or do not like.

Your opinion on moving corner row housing further into front yards: Most corner residential lots could be rezoned to RF3 for a 3 or 4 unit row house. A league civics director and EFCL have convinced City Council to consider moving the corner row housing further away from the neighbour’s property line. In return the city planners wish to move the row housing further into the front yard. The question is, by how much? What would be acceptable to you?  Call or email with your feedback.

Attached is an article on Corner Infill Row Housing and a photo which could be put into your community league newsletter if you wished and the timing is right.

The target date for the public hearing is March 14, 2015.

News and alerts to leagues regarding neighbourhood planning and redevelopment issues are usually done through the EFCL e-news. Only those who subscribe to the newsletter get the news.  Don’t miss out! Subscribe now if you haven’t already done so.

I am looking forward to hearing back from you.  Give me a phone call if you would like to talk rather than sending an email.
